Dear Internets,
How cute are these? I just wish domo was a little greener (as in reusable, I do not object to his lovely brown shade that matches mine). Perhaps I will just have to stick to the slurpees...oh and move to America. Hmm that doesn't sound too difficult at all! So lately it seems products I un-naturally dislike and would never buy, have developed new pretty packaging. I'm not a fan of coffee or slurpees...
.... and I know it's water and water doesn't have a taste, but I hate hate the taste of evian. I don't think many people here like it as its has been years since I've even seen a bottle

Dear Internets,
I have decided to draw again but for ages I was uninspired and had nothing to draw. That's when I decided I would draw bloggers whose photos resonated with me. So next week you can take a sticky beak. You would find a sketch version of you cool, right?
On to other things: my friend just got new insoles and likended them to wearing highheels. I believe he asked me something along the lines of "why do you choose to die a slow and painful death?". To tell you the truth I pretty much live in cons, flip flops or ballet flats. Heels are for dinner parties and office meetings. I also make it a rule to never buy heels that are crippling and only buy them if they are killer hot! As hard as I try to stick by my rule there is no such thing as a painless heel.
When I go out for a night on the town, I always struggle to find a bag that fits my spare shoes or alternatively shoes that fit into my fabulous bags. FlexiFlats are ballet flats that fold up and fit into it's very own pouch. I think the best thing is it's price tag of $11.99...scratch that, the best bit is that $1 from each purchase goes to the breast cancer foundation. Now if stores stocked it I'd totally buy a pair. I get sort of paranoid when it comes to choosing sizes before trying things on.
Now if I could only find a way to fold up my heels so I don't have to hold them in my hands as I waddle around at 2am.

Dear Internets,
From left to right:
Red apple lip balm (I bought it in HK. The brand is written in Japanese)
Bobbi Brown creamy concealer kit
Savvy eyeliner
Cocoa Khol eyeliner pencil
Clinique blushing nude lippy
Natio Peach glow blusher
Mac glimmer shimmer
Lancome Miracle Au de Parfum
I was over at Sour Cherry snooping in her make up pouch, as you do and I just found it surprisingly interesting. I don't really ever wear make up so I ended up discovering a few products. Is it just me or does the cocept of lip stain just sound delicious?
Make up facinates me but beyond big company meetings and hot dates (smirk) I hope I have many more years of not wearing the stuff. Moisturiser is my make up!
Also, I was loading up old photos and I found a pic of the nottoday necklace I won through Frankie mag. Isn't it fun? I must admit, it's not something I would ordinarily buy but it's very fun to wear! Totally lifts up a boring jean and tank top outfit.
On to more frustrating matters, summer is around the corner and i'm impatient. As you may be able to tell, I am still in search for the perfect dress. A black and silver number down, back to the drawing board with many more to try I'm sure. For pete's sake, what do designers have against sleeves?
Isn't the old rule: Legs or clevage, pick ONE!
Perhaps one day I will be able to put my arms up and not moon someone. Perhaps one day I won't have to wear singlets under or cardigans over expensive dresses for modest clevage.
I saw something the other day that looked like it came straight out of a "news" program dramatic re-enactment. Grown men were beating the living daylights out of each other with any random object they could find e.g. plan of wood with a nail in it. Things got really interesting when one man got into a car and tried to mow a whole bunch of people down. As one would expect, the cops were called
Seriously, what the heck? I understand being so angry that you want to punch someone, but actually doing it? I'd rather just walk away and buy myself some happy. It is thought the best way to perk yourself up s to smile untill it feels like you are smiling for a reason. If you want some inspiration check out Esra Rose. Her work is joyful, colourful and just plain fun. I would highly recommend checking out her portfolio.

Dear Internets,
I think this may be the last installment of wedding wednesday until I get a specific request. It's just hitting a little close to home and I will totally end up organising Hanna's wedding for her, rather than just offering images.
This wednesday we look at the DIY wedding. I'm just amazed by the amount of talent out there. I don't know if I could do it, despite secretly wanting to do everything my self including the cake, for monetary and control reasis
[Lazy seamstress] - can you believe she made this for her friends wedding? Insane!
[Let them eat cake] I can't figure out it that is fabric or chocolate lace
I think there's a certain type of person or age group or something. noone minds when they cut corners on their wedding. Where is that line? Do crafty people have to be poor and are rich people allowed to be thrifty? I ask because at the last few weddings the favours have been delicious chocolate rather than boiled sweets with the couples name on it or champagne flutes. I thought it was quite good, and delicious! Those boiled sweets always got stale because I couldn't bring myself to eat them, and I now have a collection of mismatched glasswear. Bring on the chocolate!
Bright Green Laces has been dead of late due to my lack of net smarts. After harassing the lovely Dave, keeper and lender of net space, purveyor of all, it has been fixed!
I have in the mean time realised how blog addicted and unproductive I can be. Well now that I am back to my wasteful ways, would you like to see what I have stumbled upon in my absence?
The lovely and shy Mirabelle[above] is the result of SuperMinx's contribution to the Mirabel foundation's 3rd year of softies for Mirabel. The Mirabel foundation assists children who have been affected by parental abuse of drugs. What a fantastic thing to get behind. It's a great cause and a wonder that I and others didn't know about it.
So many wonderful people have contributed and I'm sure you would love perusing the awesome Flickr page for the contributions. Here are a couple others that I throught were so cute.
On a more personal note I have had a warm and fuzzy day. Mondays are usually the looooongest most difficult days, but today I was surprised by my sweet J. After work, he caught a train, walked for half an hour and waited for an hour just so he could buy me dinner. Biggest compliement ever and best surprise ever. I seldom get to see him on a mondays. Maybe that's enough reason for it to be my least favourite day of the week...usually

Dear Internets,
So apparently it's about time I got married. Since when is 23 the new 40? Mum has offered to buy the wedding necklace, a tradition in my family in addition to rings. Hmm, let me ask my fiance...wait, that's right, I have to get me one of those first. Lol, my parents amuse me. The ambush probably has something to do with the string of weddings I have been to. I'm starting to run out of dresses. I really liked the one above which has a lace panel on the back, but i do believe I am too tall for it, perhaps if Iwas going clubbing... The shop assistant suggested that it wasn't that the dress was too short, but simply that my legs were too long. She then sweetly suggested I shrink. I'll work on that I suppose.
I went to my friend Mel's wedding on monday. There were many aspects about it that I so loved. For starters their vows wereat the beginning of the ceremony which meant they didn't have to be standing around biting their lip and sweating uncontrollably. At the reception they entered with their guests so they had enough time to mingle with everyone, and they had proper flavoured cake; Chocolate, caramel and vanilla mud cake. None of this rum and fruit business for her! I never understood why wedding cakes couldn't be as delicious as they were pretty.
[mel mingling]
[heart shaped dessert]
[the reception was on the water, hence the ocean motif]

Dear Internets,
Oh it has been a big week from finish to end. It began with the welcoming of J's nephew, little Ethan into the world. He's so very sweet with his tiny fingernails and fine layer of peach fuzz. I learnt that even 2.8kg babies get heavy after holding them for one hour and that men don't help out. Ethan's big brother couldn't be more oblivious of the new addition to the family and spent the entire time running back and forth through the dividing curtains in the hospital room.
I also went to my friends hens night. She's getting married tomorrow *squee* [sidebar: why is it so hard to find a dress that is long enough for my legs. Coverage is a concept of the past it seems]. We paraded mel and her cop outfit through town and set her challenges which included
a dance off with another hen
busking without a lisence
practicing her bridal waltz with strangers.
Very little alcohol was consumed and much fun was had, just the way we like it!
Later in the week I took Mel to her very first concert. We saw La Roux, a band she'd never heard of before and revelled in the enthusiasm of the crowd. I was actually rather dissappointed in the concert. It was short, there were sound problems and it was just a little meh. Couldn't be too disappointed since the songs are still good.
Yesterday I met up with friends and ate ribs at hurricanes until our bellies ached. The food was pretty tasty, the servise was acceptable and the ambience was lovely. It was also nice to see that they didn't rush us out the door because there was such high demand for a table. We were able to have quite an enjoyable time but just watch out for you hip pockets. You pay for the deliciousness of it all. Affordable for a nice night on the town, not a take away meal during the week when you can't be stuffed cooking.
By the time we got out of there it was pouring down with " big rain" as my firend put it. It seems everyone had the same brilliant idea of enjoying a hot chocolate at the Lindt cafe. The pistashio macaroons were a definite highlight.
So dear friends, what , pray tell, have you been up to? Hope you've been party animals!
