5 things I know I don't need today
She ranted on: Thursday, November 26, 2009 | Time: 6:35 PM
Dear Internets,

I am sitting next to a guy who seems to thinks he is on he's on an internation call in the year 1990. I should tap him on the shoulder and...second thoughts, he's rather huge,so I may just get out of here and complain to you.
Time to enjoy some retail therapy. It's time to dust off the plastic christmas tree and get into the spirit. Problem is, no matter how many christmas themes coffee beverages I drink, I just don't seem to be getting into the christmas spirit. Gift buying should help right? I really only want one think for christmas and noone can buy it for me so I think i'll save up all my wishes for that and buy people some pretty things I know they will love and that I would have otherwise been jealous of. Everyone needs a little inspirtation when gift buying though, right?

Heat wave
She ranted on: Monday, November 23, 2009 | Time: 8:50 AM
Dear Internets,

43 [109.4] degrees all weekend meant I spent most of it cooped up avoiding heat stroke. Good thing I bought some fabric on a whim. Voila a cute little (bo peep) skirt! Note: heat induced glow

Does anyone else experience that persistent urge to display new wares with every excited purchase or production? Looks like I will either have to venture out on a weeknight (which doesn't really happen since I moved to the sticks and became single), or wait for the weekend. So kids if you see this skirt in town this weekend it'll most probably be on pixelhazard's body. If it's being worn by someone else, notify the police because I have been rolled!

Speaking of weekend, young blood is on in sydney again. I love designers markets and I may just get some christmas shopping done! Can't get too excited just yet though, the week has, after all, just begun

Summer glow
She ranted on: Saturday, November 21, 2009 | Time: 11:29 AM
Dear Internets,

[spotted @ omganotherone]

The Australian summer has well and truly arrived early and everyone's brains are melting a little bit. It's 43 degrees again today which should equate to something like 109F for those of you from over seas. Sitting still results in a lovely glow, alluring enough to draw you in and sweaty enough to repel. I don't even want to tell you how gross things get when movement is required. The worst of it is, it's too hot for the beach!

I was supposed to organise dragging Heman and Trjn into town so I could check out leeloo's Once Upon exhibit but I don't know if I can make the trek today. I'll have to muster up some heat enduring enthusiasm soon since tomorrow is the last day for it. As all good procrastinators say "maybe tomorrow" and who knows I may still be able to drag someone with me, they'll thank me once we're there.

[spotted @ dirty ice cream]

Hope you all have a great weekend, I'm going to have an iceblock for breakfast! Mmmm...healthy!

mopping up broken hearts
She ranted on: Monday, November 16, 2009 | Time: 11:40 PM
Dear Internets,

So what's the cure for a broken heart? I've resisted the urge to feed myself into a stupor so the fallback plan seems to be to deplete my savings with retail therapy. Fine, in the short term, but what happens when I run out of money and pretty things to buy? The 'pity' thing from people is really not working for me either.

Anyway, despite all the shopping, I have still not managed to find a dress that goes down to my knees. I don't think I would mind so much if the fabric was utilised in capped sleeves or something. No such luck!  I suppose, at the very least, the short dresses have been keeping me cool in the 43degree (C) weather.

Maybe I'll utilize my christmas break and make some dresses of my own that actually have sleeves and go down to the knees. I've been meaning to do it for a while but always complained about not having enough time and lack of pretty fabric.I am no seamstress so perhaps I am biting off more than I could chew but distraction is the name of the game, right? Besides, if someone can rock a teatowel or mop heads, the fabric excuse is probably a cop out.

Wish me luck?

Ghosts of halloweens passed
She ranted on: Sunday, November 15, 2009 | Time: 12:31 AM
Dear Internets,

Haloween is well and truly over but I think a few of us were a little slow on the uptake. They were playing halloween specials on tv today and it was soooo last month, ya know? Either way as long as it's given me Tim Burton's magical fashion, I'm not much fussed.

My sister excitedly showed me this Harper's Bazaar shoot and I have to admit that I love it too! The wonderful props, themes and settings somehow don't seem to detract from the beautiful gowns themselves. Oh how I wish I could afford to swish around in this stuff, despite knowing that if I was that rich, I wouldn't be able to justify such large sums of money on clothes.

[edward's lady friend? That could get complicated]

[doesn't burton resemple Billy Bob's santa- digging the eye patch]

[little marionet doll, what a great gown!]

[I'm having a love affair with lace right now]

moonface beauty
She ranted on: Wednesday, November 11, 2009 | Time: 9:43 PM
Dear Internets,

If you had told me 6 or 7 years ago that Dakota Fanning was going to grow out of her spooky moon faced look I would have been amused by your outlandish ideas, but given you points for creativity. I must admit she has been off my radar for a little while but when I saw the teen vogue cover shoot she did recently...well first I wanted to steal some of the clothes and accessories, but after that, I was surprised by how pretty she looks!

And of course, the obvious question....
Found anything you would steal from Dakota?
I'd steal all her skirts & the shoes in the second pic

Now this is just going to look tragic after a vogue shoot but I am trying to perfect the art of outfit posts and practice makes perfect right? Shameless outfit post practice to follow, you have been warned!

Finding fun clothes to wear to work is surprisingly difficult. but atleast I have my new hair cut to cover my face if people look at my outfit choice with distaste. I can't believe I forgot to put shoes on. Shame on me, I know, since it is apparent I need the magical assistance of heels which create discernable butt.

Alcoholic rainbows
She ranted on: Sunday, November 8, 2009 | Time: 8:03 PM
Dear Internets,

Today I went for a stroll and to my suprise, I spotted a hot pink cow trying to cross the road. I think this weekend might just be an adventerous one!

Have you had an adventerous weekend? Mine involved some retail therapy with the girls and the bumping into aforementioned cow. I bought so much and got a very early christmas prezzie- 2 beautiful handbags! I also impulse bought this skirt (points to photo below *point point* ). I love it but it has made me wonder if I look like a rainbow drank one too many alco-pops and threw up on me- what's the verdict?

denim vest - cocolatte $15.00 (on sale)
skirt - cotton on $15.00 (woo sale!)
random 'avacado' black top
shoes stolen from mum-now they are mine!

Ok so before I go to clean up the the mess that has developed in my bedroom over the past week. A few more random sketches from my book. These aren't inspired my bloggers like the last lot but I like their randomness none the less. I hope you enjoy them too!

Dear Internets,

Remember how I told you I haven't drawn in a while and was uninspired? Well bloggers have inspired me! Is this a drawing of you? Take a peek at the others I've done this week

Above is [the chic muse - I am jealous of her pretty hair]

[Fashion capuccino] - sorry I made you look somewhat like Moulan

[zebra and meerkat- how CUTE is she??? ]

Thanks blogger for helping me out with sketcher's block or whatever I should call it. Hope you like them and aren't disappointed, like when I see a bad photo of myself.

Now for MUSIC

If I had a CD of my life right now it would have to include:
  • little lion man by mumford and sons
  • broken hearted girl by Beyonce Knowles
  • release me by Leona Lewis
Yep, life's a little tragic right now, but just to shake things up lets chuck a random song I am enjoying into the mix. While we're at it, buy me the Michael Buble album. I'm in need of some serious happy!

My first Halloween
She ranted on: Sunday, November 1, 2009 | Time: 7:07 PM
Dear Internets, boys and gouls,

Happy halloween! I know I'm a day late but I had the party a day early, which surely returns balance to the universe right? This year I had my very first halloween! Let me explain: in Australia, we really don't celebrate  halloween, and any children who trick or treat are general looked upon with scorn. They are candy monkies with doorbell happy fingers and parents who just don't give a damn.

When I moved into this neighbourhood I discovered the kids trick or treat. I had just come home from a 6 hour drive when i was tormented with hours of kids ringing the doorbell, peeping through windows and knocking on the door demanding candy. I had no idea what was going on and by the time they were done, we had no candy, cookies or morning tea for anyone to take to work or school the next week. This year I thought i'd get into the spirt of things. I bought candy that looked like body parts and held a party. I totally get it now. It was so much fun and I was very proud of our scary food prep and decorations since good supplies are scarce. My proudest creation was chocolate cake eyeballs and blood orage juice with blood transfusion type labels on each bottle and apples that bite back

My friend spent the night before with a buddy carving out a huge pumpkin, which was so crazy awesome! Everyone bought food and attached fuin labels to it. All in all, total success! I doubt it was anywhere close to american halloween standards but an E for Effort is better than an F for fail!
